Gateway Tunnel: Stop the Shutdown
In seven days, construction on the Gateway Tunnel project could be forced to stop unless federal funding is released. Gateway is the $16 billion project to build a new rail tunnel under the Hudson River and repair the existing 115 year old tunnel damaged by Hurricane Sandy. About 200,000 people rely on this connection every day. A shutdown means immediate layoffs for around 1,000 union construction workers, higher costs for taxpayers, and more risk for NJ commuters and the entire Northeast Corridor.
Send a letter to your U.S. Representative now to demand that funding is restored before construction halts.
