Environmental justice means the just treatment and meaningful involvement of all people in the environmental decisions impacting their communities.
Our work focuses on caring for and building power in our communities, especially those disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change. It is critical to recognize that our low-income communities and communities of color who experience the highest number of environmental hazards and stressors. For Climate Revolution Action Network, this means our goals are always to bring more young people together in third spaces that build connection, foster belonging, and organize for collective justice.
GROUNDED IN COMMUNITY
Environmental justice is also about restoring and protecting the places people live, gather, and remember. Our volunteers and youth members regularly organize hands-on projects that improve neighborhood spaces while building local community leadership.
FIGHTING POLLUTION AT THE SOURCE
We advocate for stronger protections in overburdened communities, including efforts to reduce truck pollution near port and freight corridors and to hold repeat polluters accountable. In Camden and other frontline cities, we have supported calls for oversight and accountability when industrial operators like EMR create ongoing environmental risks, including facilities linked to repeated recycling fires and air quality concerns.

SEED BOMBING AND YOUTH GREENING EVENTS
We have worked with young people across the state to lead seed bombing and neighborhood greening efforts that bring new life to overlooked spaces.
CEMETERY AND LEGACY SPACE CLEANUPS
We have partnered with community members to support cemetery and neighborhood cleanups in historically Black communities, helping preserve important cultural and historical sites while mobilizing new volunteers.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS
From local canvasses to neighborhood meetings, we focus on meeting people where they are and building trust over time.
STANDING WITH IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES
You cannot separate climate justice from immigrant justice. Displacement, economic instability, and environmental harm are deeply connected. Many communities facing the worst climate impacts are also navigating immigration challenges here in New Jersey and across the country.
The United States has played a significant role in driving global extraction and emissions that have destabilized regions across the Global South. As climate and economic pressures force more people to migrate, it is our responsibility to support policies and partners that protect immigrant families and uphold human dignity.

We work alongside immigrant rights organizations and community partners to strengthen protections, expand access to information, and mobilize public support for fair policies.

We support statewide efforts focused on privacy protections, due process, and limits on harmful detention practices, local law enforcement collaboration with federal immigration authorities.
We help uplift, promote, and run trainings that ensure immigrant families and allies understand their rights and available resources.
Alongside key partners, we've sued the Trump administration in the fight to protect the environment and our neighbors from ICE Detention Centers.
Environmental justice work only moves forward when communities organize together. Join us in supporting frontline communities and the partners leading this work every day.
