Birding the Great Bay of the Mullica
May 16 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am
All in nature is connected, and what happens upstream on our river systems can have lasting impacts downstream! Join our Ecology Team on a guided birding walk at Great Bay Boulevard Wildlife Management Area. We’ll walk around 3.5 miles along the boulevard searching for a diversity of birds that call New Jersey’s saltmarsh ecosystem home, including herons, terns, shorebirds, waterfowl, and more! We’ll also discuss how the saltmarsh has changed over time, and how what occurs upstream on the Mullica will also affect our saltmarsh ecosystems. Bring binoculars, water, sun protective clothing, and sunscreen!
