In a pivotal moment for our nation and the climate justice movement, President Joe Biden has announced his decision not to seek re-election. This decision reflects his understanding of the immense challenges we face and the need for fresh leadership to confront them.
Under President Biden’s leadership, we have seen remarkable strides in climate action. The creation of the American Climate Corps and a historic $363 billion investment in climate initiatives have laid the groundwork for a sustainable future. These achievements are a testament to the power of collective action and the urgency of addressing the climate crisis.
The stakes in this election could not be higher. Another term for Donald Trump represents a dire threat to the progress we’ve made and the communities we partner with every day. The GOP’s agenda undermines our democratic values and poses a severe risk to LGBTQ+ people, women, the working class, and communities of color.
It’s crucial that we recognize the importance of youth and grassroots movements in driving change. Young people have been at the forefront of climate activism, demanding accountability and action from our leaders. As we rally around Kamala Harris, we must ensure that their voices are amplified, and their vision for a just and sustainable future is realized.
We at the Climate Revolution Action Network (CRAN) express our gratitude for President Biden’s contributions. His legacy in advancing climate policy and social justice will not be forgotten. As we move forward, our focus shifts to supporting Vice President Kamala Harris. Her leadership offers hope for a future where climate justice and equity are at the forefront of our national agenda.
